More Than Friends
By Amberina

Dear Journal,

It's June 5th.

I am Liz Parker. And Maria DeLuca is my girlfriend.

It has been three weeks since we kissed, two since we groped, and one week since we first consummated our relationship.

It's probably time to tell our boyfriends.

Break

Her hand is tense, her grip firm yet shaky. I don't really know how to explain it. All I know is that her palm is sweaty. Or maybe that's my palm. Who knows, but I know we're both nervous. Beyond nervous. Way beyond nervous. We're about to tell our boyfriends that we're not friends anymore - we're about to tell them that we're more than that.

Maria lets go of my hand and begins to sort through her purse for some essential oil or something, and I'd tell her that we are way beyond essential oils, but maybe we're not, so I take the vial from her after she is done and sniff it.

"You ready?" she asks me as I hand her the small vial back. She knows it's a stupid question, of course, but she asks it anyway out of lack of anything better to say, and she makes the cutest little worried face when she asks it, so I instantly feel okay about everything.

"As ready as I'll ever be."

Break

We did a double-date thing. First a movie, and then dinner. At the restaurant, Maria and I sat next to eachother, and held on to each other's hands for dear life under the table.

She looked at me questioningly and I nodded. "We, we have something to tell you," she said, and the guys looked at us with their innocent puppy-dog faces.

"Yes," I added. "This has been a ploy I guess you could say, so we could talk to you guys together."

Michael smiled. "You mean you really didn't want to see 'Halloween XVIV - We're Kind of Running Out of Plot Ideas?'"

Maria laughed goofily. "That's funny. Funny Michael. Always funny."

"It wasn't that funny," Michael informed her and she abruptly stopped laughing.

I sighed. "This is going to come as a shock, I know, but Maria and I - "

"We're together," Maria finished.

Max and Michael looked at eachother for a moment, and then broke out into big smiles. They help up their hands, which apparently had been intertwined under the table as well.

"So are we," Max said.

Break

Dear Journal,

It's June 6th.

I am Liz Parker. And Maria DeLuca is my girlfriend.

It has been three weeks since we kissed, two since we groped, and one week since we first consummated our relationship.

My ex-boyfriend is Max Evans, and he is dating my girlfriend's ex-boyfriend. Kind of ironic in the sense that for once everything is turning out all right.

We started the evening as a mediocre double date, and we ended it as a glorious double date.

Today, we found out that Isabel and Tess are dating, and that Alex and Kyle are together in that we're-in-denial-but-get-a-total-rush-out-of-making-out-in-public-places kind of way.

We've all never been happier. We just need to find Valenti a nice man.
