Misunderstanding #1

"He's my boyfriend!" Willow yelled at the other girl.

"He's a werewolf!" Veruca spat out. "You wouldn't know what to do with him!"

"I know enough!" Willow glared at the other girl.

"Yeah, enough to lock him up like a rabid puppy!" Veruca shook her head in digust. "You stupid ignorant bitch..."

"Slut!" Willow's hand flew out, slapping Veruca across the cheek.

Veruca rubbed her cheek, her eyes narrowed. "You are *so* going down..." She lunged for Willow.

Suddenly, a figure stepped between them.

Willow's eyes widened. "Oz?" she asked in a trembly voice.

Oz looked at both of them. "Stop. It."

Willow looked at him with wide questioning eyes. Veruca took a step back, looking down at the ground.

"Stop it right now," Oz said firmly. "Both of you." He stepped back, looking at both of them with careful, sharp eyes.

"But--" Willow said.

"Not. A. Word." Oz looked at both of the women. "Now," he said, his voice calm. "Why were you fighting over me?"

Veruca sighed, still looking down at the ground. "She thinks I'm trying to take you from her," she said flatly.

Willow glared at the other girl. "You are!" she said in a loud, whiny shriek. "She's been trying to take you from me!" She leaned forward. "Cheap trashy slut!"

"Willow..." Oz said, his voice outwardly calm, but seething with tension. "Don't."

Willow stopped, staring at him with wide eyes. "Oz...?"

"Don't." Oz stepped back a second. "Veruca, you think we have a connection because we're both werewolves and in bands..." At Veruca's slight nod and hopeful eyes, he paused, but then continued. "And we don't."

Veruca looked down at the ground, and sighed regretfully.

Willow's lips curved into a smug smile, victorious again, queen of all that was pure and proper.

"And Willow..." Oz looked directly at her. "I'm not yours."

Willow's face fell. "What?" she asked, her eyes large and tear filled.

"I'm not your accessory. I'm not something you choose to pick up occasionally because it looks good. That's a purse. Not a boyfriend."

"W...wha...what?" Willow stammered.

"I'm not going to be just the occasional accessory."

Veruca chuckled.

Willow continued to just stare at him.

Oz looked at them and shook his head. "You both just assumed that I'd want to be with either of you. And that's not the case at all."

Willow made a noise of protest, and Oz held up his hand. "It never occurred to either of you that, maybe, there was someone else in my life."

Willow looked up at him in surprise. "What?"

"Hey, Oz," a fourth person walked up to the group. "What's goin' on?"

Oz wrapped his arm around the other man's waist. "Not too much...just setting a few things straight..."

Devon grinned. "Cool." He looked at the two women. "C'mon, babe, we gotta get to that gig..."

"Right..." Oz looked at the two women, Veruca simply raising an eyebrow, Willow's mouth open in horror. "You see, girls, Dev and I have been together for years..." He shrugged. "You just assumed that I'd be interested in you..."

The two men walked away, arms wrapped around each other's waist, grinning. Veruca looked at Willow wryly. "So....wanna fuck?"

Willow looked at the girl with fear. "What what what?"

"They're together...wanna get together?"

Willow's eyes widened, then she fled from the area in terror, shrieking all the way.

Veruca shrugged again, and went off to find her band.
